Miss South Dakota 2024 Joelle Simpson joins the library to discuss her passions for music and environmental conservation, and her experiences that lead to her title.
Born and raised in Rapid City, Joelle Simpson was honored to become the state's 77th Miss South Dakota on June 1. She is a college junior studying medical laboratory science. She played Swan Lake Harp Cadenza on her concert grand pedal harp for the talent competition and is also the state's most accomplished figure skater. Her platform topic, Nurturing Nature, fosters harmony between communities and the environment through wildlife conservation. She will be competing on the Miss America stage in January 2025.
